Parents 'blown away' by Drama Club's immersive School Play!
'Drama has developed (my son) as a person. Delighted to see the boys performing with such professionalism and skill' (Parent, year 11).
We have had such incredible feedback for our outside promenade School Play this year which in turn celebrates 10 years of Drama at Slindon College.
The bad weather could not dampen the spirits of our audience as they were taken on a 'magical' tour of our National Trust grounds in what has proven to be our most immersive and successful play yet!
The audience were taken on a journey on foot around the stunning school grounds set in the heart of the Southdowns National Park, with each scene in a different location as the thrilling story panned out.
The 23 members of our hard-working cast had been preparing for the show in their own time since January, with all hands on deck from staff in recent weeks creating props, costumes and set pieces within Design Technology and Art. These included everything from a magical wardrobe to a sinister sledge fashioned from a Greenpower car!
A huge well done to everyone involved, especially our lead actors George O, Matthew G, Jago W (Year 9), George T, Samuel G-G (Year 11) and Lenny H (Head Boy) who gave up so much of their time to rehearse.
Mr Bentley, our Drama & LAMDA teacher and director of this mammoth production said:
"As always, I am immensely proud of the pupils, and never fail to be amazed by their hard work, talent and teamwork. They have not only combated the rain, but numerous personal challenges both socially and technically and have again created something magical and memorable."
We would like to also thank our wonderful parents for help with costumes, and the staff who worked backstage during the show. The show was recorded and is currently being edited. We look forward to seeing what the pupils do next!
